Baneling - The Suicide bomber

Type: Sapper
Core Genus: Zergling
Primary Attack: Volatile Burst

Zerg’s newest unit in Starcraft 2, the baneling is an ant-like creature that bloated with fluid-filled sacs that it can barely walk. This latest Zerg is dangerous as the infested Terran in the original Starcraft. Once the baneling is closer to the enemy unit, the fluid-filled payload on its back will explode with destructive force and causes debris of acids on its surrounding. The baneling is simply a suicide bomber.

These walking bombs are so effective on both ground units and enemy structures. It is capable of wiping an entire squad on the ground. The baneling has a burrowing ability that will make it very dangerous unit. It can hide on the ground and explode like a landmine.

Many believe that the baneling is zerg mutation of the zergling, the massive unit of the entire Zerg army. This alarming development has demonstrated the advanced ability of the zerg queens to manipulate their offspring. Although the baneling is chemically volatile and unstable enough to explode at any time, the queens have engineered a morph that can contain its energies until just the right moment. By creating the baneling out of the most basic of zerg fighters, the queens have also ensured that an inexhaustible supply of raw materials is available for the task.

Meanwhile Terran technology is developing a chemical weapon to counter the baneling before they can detonate against Terran Forces.

Mutalisk the most maneuvarable air unit

Type: Medium Attack Flyer
Core Genus: Mantis Screamer
Primary Attack: Glave Wurm

The Mustalisk is a mantis screamer of the desolate Dinares sector they have been infested by the Zerg and has evolved into the Mutalisk.

In Starcraft 2 the Mutalisk still the most maneuverable air unit making it the primary flying unit of the Zerg army. It is known for its hit and run attacks against enemy units because of its air capabilities. The Mutalisks are very effective in large numbers overpowering enemy base installation like a German blitzkrieg.

It can attack both ground and air expelling a glave wurm - a voracious symbiote that can rapidly strike at several opponents as it explosively disintegrates. It has regeneration abilities or can fully heal once it is wounded against enemy fire making it lethal against its opponent.
In Starcraft 2 I still don’t of the Mutalisk will evolve into Zerg Devourer (an anti-air unit) and Zerg Guardian (a ground-assault unit) like in the original Starcraft.

Hydralisk - Zerg's main weapon

Type: Medium Assault Warrior
Core Genus: Slothien
Primary Attack: Needle Spines

The fiercest Zerg unit the Hydralisk is back in the most anticipated game of 2008 Starcraft 2. Hydralisk have been the primary weapon of the Zerg race, it is equivalent to Marines or Zealots. With its swarming attack and high speed movement could easily overrun an enemy base within seconds.

These creatures has an armor-piercing spines all over their body that been use before for defense but was evolved into an offensive arsenal that launches the spines at enemy units both air and ground.

Hydralisk can be use for surprise attack or ambush enemy units by burrowing into the ground. This tactic is very effective when the Hydralisk is burrowing in the pathway of the enemy and uncovering when the enemy units are on the vulnerable position.
